Marko Timlin
Marko Timlin is a Helsinki-based sound artist, composer, musician and inventor of digital and analogue instruments. His artistic and musical work comprises solo concerts, sound installations, and collaborations with musicians, dancers and visual artists.
Marko Timlin has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America performing at galleries, venues and festivals in Finland, Sweden, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Austria, Canada and the US.
He also gives lectures about the creative potential of electronic media and real-time interaction with digital media. Marko Timlin taught at the Royal Academy of Music in Granada, the Conservatory of Cadiz, and the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. In 2009 he gave a lecture about “Live Performance of Electronic Music” at NYU.
Timlin studied Jazz drums at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, Weimar, and Music Technology at the Centre for Music & Technology, Sibelius Akatemia, Helsinki, and McGill University, Montreal.
